I've done a little research looking for 2012 trends. There are a lot of trends but these are the most trendy ones!
Sweet Pleats
Girly and flattering pleats on dresses & skirts. (whether on maxis or minis)
Little Red Dresses
The new black for 2012. Seen a lot on runways.
Embellished Sweatshirts
Intresting casual trend. Quick tip: Make sure the sweatshirt has some inetresting graphics, crystals, or detailing so it doesn't look trashy.
Maxi Skirts & Button-Downs
A crisp white button-down is all that needed to take the look from relaxed to classy.
Natutical Stripes
The natutical trend was huge during 2011, and it isn't going anywhere in 2012.

At last, the most important thing is to turn these trends into your own style. You also don't have to follow the trends that you don't like. The main idea is to be stylish on your own unique way.
